Biography Michael Tildis - Jan Huylebroeck

Michael Tildis, alias Jan Huylebroeck, born in Ostend (Belgium) in 1956, pianist, percussionist and timpany-player started his professional career in 1975.
He combined a full schedule of stagework with pianoteaching.
As timpanist, he started , after a peiod of 9 years in a regional symphonic orhestra, a free-lance career with various orchestras (La Petite Bande, I Fiamminghi and Anima Aeterna) on historical instruments. With these orchestras he recorded 15 CD’s.

As solo-pianoplyer, he performed several concertos with orchestral accompaniment. He also effected a solid reputation as accompanist for song recitals (2 CD’s) and competitions. After 10 years , Jan Huylebroeck stopped teaching and became pianist-accompanist at the Bruges Music Conservatory.
In the same year he started to explore the possibilities of the synthesizer, founding the concerttrio “CD-LIVE” in 1986, a group specialised in the musical aspect of the synth, not just the technical.

He is a composer-arranger of repute, warmly appreciated for his live-sounding symphonical synthesizer orchestrations, whose work extends to chambermusic, music for solo-instruments, brass band and naturally for electronic instruments. For the “Royal Ballet of Flanders - musical company” he took on the musical direction until 1997. In this period he made all the arrngements and orchestrations of : Jerry’s girl, Broadway Baby, Hollywood by night, Yours Anne, Sound of Music, Chess, Sacco & Vanzetti.
